Description: J. Hall (c.1876) The Royal Thames Yacht Club's schooner Norseman off afortified headland signed and dated 'J. Hall/76' (lower left) oil on canvas 20 x 36 in. (50.8 x 91.4 cm.). Norseman was built across the Mersey by Lairds at Birkenhead in 1875. She measured 124 feet in length with a 20 footbeam and was powered by one of her builders own 40hp. engines.
